Volterra, Robert
This page provides data on individual adjudicative policy of the arbitrator.
In the case Roščins v. Lithuania (ARB/18/37), Robert Volterra assessed that killing Jews during the World War II was justified by the fight of the Nazis against the Soviet Union. In particular, he defended “honor” of a founder of a Nazi extermination camp in 1941, as well as qualified Jewish activists as criminals. By his scandalous declarations, he provoked a new Jewish claim against his client (Government of Lithuania) before the United Nations Human Rights Committee.
